Yoga for Youth
Yoga for Youth
As the part of the 8th International Day of Yoga celebrations, Embassy of India in partnership with Al-Salam Hotel, Khartoum organized the 3rd curtain raiser event on 11th June 2022. The theme of the event was ‘Yoga for Youth’.
The event was organized to honour celebrities, young entrepreneurs, content creators, artists, musicians and sports persons from the Republic of Sudan and introduce them to healthy living through Yoga.
More than fifty renowned Sudanese participated in the event. Among them were Women national football team members of Sudan including Ms. Noora Mohammed, Ms. Faten Zaher and Ms. Rugaya, Entrepreneur and co-founder of 249Startups Ms. Khansa Alhag, Table Tennis player Mr. Abdurrehman, Olympic Swimmer Mr. Ismat Adil Ismat Moani, Football player and Social Media Influencer Mr. Mohammed Mustafa (Prince), Musician Mr. Ahmad Shamma, Actor and Comedian Mr. Awad Hassan, Social Media influencers Mazin Urso, Mazin Alfahal, Mohamed Magzoop, Waddah Medani, Ahmed Opama and Singer Mr. Salah Mohammed. The celebrities enthusiastically participated and performed yoga and later shared their experience after the Yoga session.
Ambassador Mr. B S Mubarak addressed the gathering and spoke on the theme ‘Yoga for Youth’.
The Yoga session was led by Sudanese coach Ms. Tayseer Mohamed, Ms. Fayrouz Mohamed Elhelo, Ms. Hadeel Gahir and Mr. Mohammed Atta, Sports Administrator and Social Worker. The International Day of Yoga is being celebrated worldwide on 21st June every year.
