Tree Plantation Event
Tree Plantation Event
As a part of 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' to commemorate the 75 Years of India’s Independence, Embassy of India, Khartoum in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and the Council of International People’s Friendship and the Union of Chambers of Agriculture, organized tree plantation drive on 13.08.2022 Saturday morning at the campus of the Council of International People Friendship (Global Park), Khartoum. 75 Mango Trees were planted during the event.
Hon’ble Minister of Agriculture H.E. Dr. Omer Abubaker Albushra was the Chief Guest. He planted the 75th Mango Tree at the event. Dr. Salwa ( Secretary General ) , Dr. Amani (Asia Divison Head) and Dr. Hani from the Council of International People's Friendship and Mr. Munzir (Financial secretary) and Dr. Murtada (Secreatry General) from the Union of Chambers of Agriculture and Mr. Anwar the General Manager the National Forests Corporation participated at the event. Officers of the Embassy of India and Mr. Abuobaida and Mr. Jamal from Sudanese Indian Friendship Association and some prominent members of the Indian Community participated at the tree plantation drive.
At the inauguration of the event the Minister of Agriculture Dr. Albushra spoke about the strong links between India and Sudan. Ambassador Mubarak highlighted the significance of the 75th year of India’s Independence and mentioned various initiatives taken by the Embassy of India to strengthen Economic and Cultural ties between the two countries.
