State Day – Delhi
As part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, to celebrate 75 years of Independence of India, Embassy of India in collaboration with Delhi Tourism and Transport Development Corporation (DTTDC), New Delhi and Incredible India (Dubai Office) organized ‘State Day – Delhi’ on 11 February 2022 at Hotel Al Salam under State Promotion and Facilitation.
2. On this occasion, Mission invited prominent tour and travel agencies in Sudan. Major agencies promoting medical tourism to India from Sudan and renowned Sudanese were also invited. The event was attended by about 50 invitees.
3. Representatives from DTTDC Mr. Pankaj Gaur, Dy. Manager and Ms. Meenakshi Sharma, Asstt. Manager attended the event virtually and made a brief presentation about Delhi, its heritage, culture, and tourist attractions.
4. Ambassador Mr. B.S. Mubarak gave his remarks as well as a presentation titled ‘Incredible India’ covering all aspects of India tourism, its importance and top tourist destinations. He also gave a presentation on Delhi’s famous tourist places. A presentation also given by Mr. Anil Kumar Sarma, Second Secretary (Consular) on visa process for India.
5. Dr. Galal Ahamed Dawood, one of the pioneers in medical tourism from Africa shared his rich experience in medical sectors in India and conveyed that India is the best place for Sudanese Nationals for advanced medical care. He also conveyed that India offers advanced medical treatment, with skilled doctors and low-cost treatment for Sudanese nationals.
6. Dr. Hamid Al Bashir, former Governor of South Kordofan state of Sudan and former UNICEF Head in India, shared his experience about India and mentioned that India is the best destination for higher education and medical tourism. He also remarked that Sudan should take advantage of India’s vast experience in good governance, health, technology and capacity building.
7. During the event, short videos on Incredible India and Delhi tourism was screened. The program concluded with a performance by Mr. Mohamed Hamid Al Gizouli, a prominent Sudanese singer who presented old Bollywood songs.
