Indian delegation visited Sudan to participate at the 5th Sudanese International Oil Seeds Conference from 18-19 November.
An Indian delegation led by Chairman of Indian Oilseeds and Produce Exporters Promotion Council (IOPEPC) Mr. Nilesh Vira visited Sudan to participate at the 5th Sudanese International Oil Seeds Conference from 18-19 November. More than 30 representatives from Indian companies participated in the conference. At the invitation of the Union Chamber of Commerce, Ambassador of India Mr. B.S. Mubarak participated in the Conference at the inaguration ceremony.
Sudan has become one of the major exporters of sesame and groundnuts to India and several Indian companies have invested in Sudan in oilseed sector.
The visiting delegation held meetings with Ambassador Mubarak at the Embassy of India and also held meetings with Prof. Ahmed Obeid Hassan, Executive Director, Chamber of Oil and Agricultural Crops (Sudanese Chambers of Industries Association). Several initiatives to collaborate with the Sudanese agricultural producers were discussed during the meeting.
