Hon'ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi today inaugurated the "Global Millets Conference" at IARI, Pusa Campus, New Delhi on March 18, 2023
Hon'ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi today inaugurated the "Global Millets Conference" at IARI, Pusa Campus, New Delhi on March 18, 2023. Global Millets Conference is a global event aimed towards increasing the adoption and awareness of Millets.
Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi while addressing the "Global Millets Conference" conveyed that “As the world celebrates International Year of Millets, I am glad that India is leading the campaign to promote millets”. He also said that “such events are not only necessary for global good, but also a symbol of India's growing responsibility in global food”.
Hon'ble Prime Minister expressed his gratitude to the representatives from other parts of the world including the Hon’ble Ministers of Agriculture from Sudan, Guyana, Maldives for participating at the Global Millets conference.
Hon'ble Minister of Agriculture of Sudan H.E. Dr. Abubaker Albushra participated and spoke at the inaugural session at the Global Conference on International Year of Millets. Prof. Abdelmoneim Taha, Head of Agricultural Research Corporation, Sudan (ARC) joined H.E. Dr. Abubaker Albushra at the Global Conference on International Year of Millets.
Representatives from more than 100 countries are participating in the Global Millets (Shri Ann) Conference organized by the Department of Agriculture and Farmer Welfare on March 18 and 19.
