Embassy of India, Khartoum in partnership with Ministry of Culture of Sudan organized an ICCR-sponsored A to Z Bollywood Music & Dance Group Programme at Friendship Hall, Khartoum on 12 November 2022
As part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, Embassy of India, Khartoum in partnership with Ministry of Culture of Sudan organized an ICCR-sponsored A to Z Bollywood Music & Dance Group Programme at Friendship Hall, Khartoum on 12 November 2022.
2. The event was attended by more than 800 Indian nationals, Persons of Indian Origin, Ambassadors from diplomatic community/Head of international organizations based in Sudan and Sudanese nationals. H.E. Dr. Garaham Abdul Gadir, Hon’ble Minister of Culture of Sudan was the Chief Guest on the occasion. The programme started with the lighting of the auspicious lamp in which H.E. Dr. Garaham Abdul Gadir, Hon’ble Minister of Culture of Sudan, Dr. Nusr Eldin Ahmed Mohamed, Under Secretary, Ministry of Culture of Sudan, Ms. Sumia Elhadi, Director of International Relationship from Ministry of Culture, Mr. Abdelgadir Salim, Chairman of Sudanese Music Association, Ambassador Mr. B. S. Mubarak along with spouse participated.
3. H.E. Dr. Garaham Abdul Gadir, Hon’ble Minister of Culture of Sudan in his speech mentioned about the cultural linkages exist between India and Sudan and how Bollywood movies and music was a part and parcel of the lives of people of Sudan.
4. At his welcome speech, H.E. Mr. B.S. Mubarak, Ambassador spoke about the global popularity of Bollywood music and movies, especially in the Middle East and African countries, including Sudan and how successfully it has been able to culturally unite India and Sudan. Sudanese Folklore dance group also performed during the occasion. Bollywood Music & Dance programme was immensely liked by the audience and they thoroughly enjoyed the event.
