ITEC Training Programmes on Forest Dwellers: Developmental Challenges and Solutions.
Under the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Programme of the Government of India, and in connection with the observance of Jan Jatiya Gaurav Divas (JJGD) 2026 from 1–15 November 2026, a fully funded two-week training programme will be conducted by the Chhattisgarh State Training Institute in Raipur, India.
The programme, titled "Forest Dwellers: Developmental Challenges and Solutions," is scheduled to commence on 12 November 2026. It has been specially designed to provide participants with insights into forest rights, tribal welfare policies, sustainable development approaches, and practical solutions to challenges faced by forest-dwelling communities.
India is among the few countries with a comprehensive forest rights framework that provides legal recognition of land and resource rights for tribal communities and forest-dependent populations. The programme will offer an opportunity to study India's experience, policy frameworks, and best practices in promoting inclusive and sustainable development for these communities.
The course is particularly relevant for officials from forest-related departments, social welfare departments, civil society organizations, research institutions, and academia engaged in tribal affairs, community development, and forest governance.
The programme has been uploaded to the ITEC portal and is now open for applications. Interested candidates are encouraged to apply through the designated channels and take advantage of this unique capacity-building opportunity.
