Celebration of Pravasi Bharatiya Divas & National Youth Day 2022
As part of celebrations of “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” for commemorating and celebrating 75 years of Independent India, Embassy of India, Khartoum organized ‘PravasiBharatiya Divas’ and ‘National Youth Day’ celebrated as Birth Anniversary of great philosopher and monk Swami Vivekananda on 12th January 2022 at Al Salam Hotel, Khartoum.
2. The event saw huge participation by the enthusiastic Indian diaspora in Sudan. Charge De’Affairs in his welcome remarkshighlighted important role of Indian diaspora, various schemes of Government of India for them and Embassy's support for the Indian community.
4. A presentation highlighting some of the ongoing flagship programmes of the Ministry of External Affairs of India aimed at strengthening engagement with Indian diaspora was also presented by the Embassy.
5. On this occasion, PravasiBharatiyaSamman Awardee and Prominent member of Indian diaspora, Dr. Anil Kumar Mithani delivered a speech highlighting role of the Indian community in Sudan.
5. An part of celebration of National Youth Day, an exhibition on the life of Swami Vivekananda was exhibited at the venue, and a speech on Swami Vivekananda’s message for youth was also delivered from a member of the Indian diaspora highlighting relevance of Swami Vivekananda for Youth in 21st century and urged youth and children to follow Swami Vivekananda’s inspiring example.
6. Several cultural performances were presented by from the community during the event.
