Celebration of Gandhi Jayanti
Embassy of India, Khartoum celebrated Gandhi Jayanti, on 2nd October, 2016 at Omdurman Indian Community School in Khartoum. It was attended by about 100-120 Indian community members including school children. We have shown the live telecast of Prime Minister inaugurating ‘Pravasi Bharatiya Kendra’. Essay and Drawing competitions were held on the occasion and prizes distributed to best performed children.
'Market Expansion Activities' and 'Make in India' Campaign
Embassy of India, Khartoum conducted a seminar on ‘Market Expansion Activities’ and ‘Make in India’ campaign of the Government of India on 28 September, 2016. The seminar was held in the premises of Union of Chambers of Commerce, Sudan which was attended by about 60-70 members of six different Chambers including the General Secretary, Mr. Hashim Alfadil F. Al-Rehman, of Union of Chambers of Commerce.
Celebration of Pravasi Bhartiya Divas -2016
Embassy of India, Khartoum celebrated Pravasi Bhartiya Divas and organized on Open House for Indian/PIO community on 9th January 2016 on the theme of “Delivering Consular Services (OCI/PIO Cards, Visa, and Mission Response & Connectivity)”.

Indian Cultural Show in Sudan
69th Independence Day Celebration
69th Independence Day of India was celebrated with joy and enthusiasm at the India House in the morning of August 15, 2015. Charge d’ Affaires Mr. Manoj Bihari Verma unfurled the National Flag which was followed by singing of the National Anthem and reading out of the ‘Address of the President of India’. The local Indian Community put a magnificent cultural performance on the occasion. The children of local school run by Indian Community Omdurman presented fantastic performance with patriotic fervors. Around 200 members of the Indian Community attended the function. The audience thoroughly enjoyed the patriotic cultural performances.
Remembrance Day
On November 9, 2014, Ambassador Sanjay K Verma participated in the Remembrance Day ceremony, organized by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission at Common Wealth War Cemetery to pay homage to nearly 985 soldiers, including more than 550 Indians (British India), who sacrificed their lives to establish peace in the East African campaign of World War-II (1940-1941) in Sudan, Eritrea and Northern Ethiopia.
The 145th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi celebration
The 145th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi was celebrated by the Embassy of India; Khartoum. On this occasion several programmes were organized by the Embassy at the chancery. The celebration begun with the garlanding of statue of Mahatma Gandhi by Ambassador Sanjay Kumar Verma. After garlanding ceremony, the embassy officials and distinguished members of Indian Community took pledge for “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” (Clean India Mission).
The Embassy of India also organized a “Blood Donation Camp” to pay homage to the Father of Nation with the support of Pediatric department of Omdurman Teaching Hospital and Friends of India. Ambassador inaugurated the camp donating his blood followed by several members of Indian Community and our Sudanese friends. Ambassador Adil Mustafa, Director of the Asian Affairs Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sudan too donated blood

Symposium on Indian Democracy
On May 9, 2014, a symposium on “Democracy in India” was organized by the Sudanese Indian Friendship Association and the Al zaem Al Azhari University (AAU) in collaboration with ‘Council for International People’s Friendship’ at the conference hall of AAU
HEART DISEASE AWARENESS WALK “FOR OUR CHILDREN
On April 24, the HEART DISEASE AWARENESS WALK “FOR OUR CHILDREN" was organized by the Embassy of India and the Sudanese-India Friendship Association, sponsored by MIOT International in Khartoum. About 400 people from school children to social activists participated. H.E Sanjay K Verma, Ambassador of India to Sudan and Abdul Rahman Al-Sadiq al-Mahdi, the Presidential Assistant of Sudan including several dignitaries motivated the “HEART DISEASE AWARENESS WALK” with their gracious presence and active participation.
Donation of Medical equipments and supplies to Bahri Teaching Hospital
Asian Ambassadors in Khartoum donated medical equipments and supplies to three wards (pediatric, isolation and neonatal) of Bahri Teaching Hospital in Khartoum on June 16, 2014. A part of the fund was raised through the First Asian Cultural Festival held in March this year in Khartoum. These supplies are expected to last for more than two years.
